Reasoning.

It goes out the window when it comes to matters of the heart.Love calls us to do things we wouldn't normally in our right minds do, but once the spell has been cast, your life is no longer your own. When you allow your guard to be put down, and you open your heart up, all that logic gained prior is lost.

Funk.

That's funk, ya weirdos.

That's exactly how I've been feeling for the past week or so. I am in a complete funk. I am too embarrassed to say why or how bad this funk has gotten. But it involves hours of television, lots pizza, and Ben & Jerry's. I can't seem to shake it. Don't worry, I have to work tomorrow so I have to take a shower and all that. I should be feeling better then.

Thanks for all the phone calls, I will be returning those shortly.

On a lighter note, my friends Rachel and Jonathan got engaged last night! I am SO excited for them! Congrats!

School Sucks.

I decided that it would be a great idea to take summer classes to try to make up for the past 3 bad years I've spent at UA. Okay, so they all haven't been bad, but not as good as I had hoped. This summer I have taken a physics class that I did well in. Before you blow a fuse, it was a physics class for educators, so it was equivilent to physics for fifth graders. I am an English major, give me a break. I don't even use that side of my brain. Much like I don't use the math side of my brain that I am attmepting to do now. I don't understand how I took AP Calculus in high school, but I can't manage to pass a freakin' pre-cal class on the computer. Oh wait, yes I do... its called the University of Alabama's math department. I have a plethora of names for it, but it's most commonly referred to as the firey pitt of hell. I loathe the math department at UA. It is worse than morning breath. Boo!

Anyway, so I am truly unsure if I am passing my math summer class or not. I'm crossing my fingers that I make an A on my final so I can just get some credit. On the lighter side, I made an A+ in my TH 245 class. Yay! *claps* (inside joke) Luckily, I do use that side of my brain. I am glad to be registered for the fall and taking classes toward my SELA major! Currently, I am signed up for 17 hours. Yikes!

I can't wait to be finished with school and teaching little ones about the importance of literature!

I will post about my exciting 4th of July from a retail point of view this weekend. Everyone else, enjoy your fireworks and your barbecues and your vacation time. I will be squeezing 24 hours of work into 3 days.

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much , and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

Summer Lovin'

I love summer. Everything about it, I just love it!
Swimming, laying out with friends, reading, relaxing, barbecues, the beach...

Mother's Day 2008

It seems that the day to celebrate our mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and other loved ones is upon us. Mother's Day is a great day. A day that serves as a reminder that we should thank those people for being part of our lives. I am grateful to have not only a mother, but also a precious grandmother who I love dearly. I have several wonderful ladies in my life that have molded bits and pieces of my life in unique and special ways. Those pieces could come only from them, and I am blessed to have those as part of me.

I visited my Mama and my Aunt Pam (a.k.a. Spam) today and ate with them. I spent most of my time with Nina. I got her Redeeming Love for Mother's Day, and the movie P.S. I Love You. We watched it tonight and ate dinner. I love that movie! It was my third time to see it, but it was just as good as time number uno. Nina loves Gerard Butler, just like me! Her quote was, "He has a nice build, doesn't he?" Mind you, this is when he is dancing and singing in his boxers. Overall, it was a nice holiday that got me to thinking that I want to do more for and with these ladies that mean so much to me.

I hope all of you remembered to tell the women in your life that you love them and how much you appreciate them. If not, its okay, you can do it any day of the year!

School Project for you HH!

Assignment #3

As we all know, the internet is swiftly changing the world we live in. We are surrounded by websites everywhere we turn; from television or work or even school. The internet has redefined many things for us- for example, we can, at our disposal anytime, read books, magazines, and even scripts to movies and television shows. More than that, we can actually stream and download movies and popular television shows. Now, we can upload our own videos thanks to YouTube and Break.com so that others can watch. The internet is a powerful medium that is taking other mediums that once stood alone, i.e., books, movies, television shows, and games, and bringing them under one umbrella. We are living in a world where the internet reigns supreme, but is there anyone out there who can control the world's most popular technology?
