Yes, We Can

Will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas and Jesse Dylan, son of the legendary Bob worked together to create a song called, "Yes, We Can". The track was inspired by Senator, Barack Obama's speech after the New Hampshire primary. No matter who you are voting for, I think most would agree this video is awesome. Hope you guys enjoy this as much as me.

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.

Yes we can.

It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.

Yes we can.

It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.

Yes we can.

It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballots; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land.

Yes we can to justice and equality.

Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.

Yes we can heal this nation.

Yes we can repair this world.

Yes we can.

We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change.

We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics...they will only grow louder and more dissonant ........... We've been asked to pause for a reality check. We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope.

But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.

Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea --

Yes. We. Can.

I should be asleep...

Is it really already Thursday???

This past weekend was my friend Scott's birthday. The work crew celebrated at Buffalo Wild Wings. Since we religiously go there now, it is becoming a favorite of mine. BWW Medium and Asian Zing= yummy. *mouth waters*

I also worked inventory Saturday and Sunday nights... ugh! I actually liked the work and hanging out with Ciara, but it just took so freakin' long. She and I pretty much joked around, played "guess that tune" with our iPods, and did Chinese Checkers. She made the night fun. Monday morning after we slaved for 13 hours I joined the home department and we treated ourselves to some IHOP. Then I had to be at class at 9a.m. to give a speech! How unfair is that? My sleep schedule has been screwed up all week. I'm trying to get back to my 10-12 hour sleep cycle though.

I got my hair cut. Its the shortest it has ever been. I wanted it to look just like the girl that does my hair, because it looks so awesome on her. My hair just sucks. Plus, I'm not used to it being so short! Yikes. Here are some pictures of my week so far.

The birthday boy and me!

Me with Nicole as we are leaving BWW.

Ciara and me, pre-inventory.

Back of hair.

Yuck, horrible picture of me, but this is my new haircut!

First Blog!

Hi everyone! This is my first blog, and I am really excited to start posting some things, and getting into the groove of writing again. It is my passion and my outlet. So, I warn you in advance for any rants, emotional outpourings, and, but not limited to, boring, daily happenings. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I love putting it out here. It would be SUPER to get some feedback!

Let me start with some rather sad and depressing news. One of the nicest celebrity men to look at, Heath Ledger, was found dead in an apartment in New York Tuesday afternoon around 3:30ish. Apparently, he had been taking sleeping pills due to a heavy work schedule, but nothing is set in stone yet. I am shocked and disappointed to see someone so young and talented go. He was only getting started, and I am now, more than ever, anxious to see him in The Dark Knight.
